GENERATOR AR 4761758 - Caterpillar

For D330C, D333C, D334, D336, 3304, 3306 and 3406 Engines equipped with a Woodward PSG Governor, remove spring (1), install the 2" (51) 7L5189 Shaft and adjust as shown. See note, page 2. When the solenoid shut-off group is used in any other application, or on an engine that does not have a Woodward PSG Governor, install the 1.44" (37) 5L8982 Shaft (on 5L8984 Group) or 3N548 Shaft (on 3N584 Group) and adjust to dimension (A) of .70" (17.8). For 6N4241 Shaft (on 8N1571 Group), dimension (A) must be .96" (24.4). After installation, re-adjust the shaft, if necessary, so solenoid current reads less than 2 amperes (all applications) on an ammeter during engine shut-down. See the Service Manual.
