Improper operation of an access platform could result in injury or death.Operators must carry out their duties properly and follow all instructions and guidelines given for the machine and access platform.
When the machine is operated from an access platform, the time for lowering a fully raised boom to the TRAVEL position should be between 60 seconds and 70 seconds. A procedure for testing the boom speed and a procedure for adjusting the boom speed are provided in this topic.Note: When the boom is lowered, the switch for the boom speed is ineffective. The boom will only lower at the slow speed regardless of the switch position.Before you perform the procedure, you must understand the operation of the machine from an access platform. Refer to the following information:

Move the transmission control to the NEUTRAL position and ensure that the parking brake is engaged. Start the engine from the cab.
Ensure that the machine is on level ground. Move the access platform to the TRAVEL position. When the access platform is in the TRAVEL position, the boom is fully retracted and the floor of the access platform is within 450 mm (18 inch) of the ground.

Keyswitch for lockout system
Ensure that the keyswitch for the lockout system is turned as far as possible in a counterclockwise direction.
Level the machine and lower the stabilizers.
Stop the engine and then turn the engine start switch in the cab to the ON position.
Turn the keyswitch for the lockout system as far as possible in a clockwise direction.
Enter the access platform.

Check that push button (4) for stopping the engine is in the ON position. When the push button is out, the push button is in the ON position.
Press push button (5) in order to start the engine from the access platform.
Press and hold push button (2) in order to raise the boom until the boom raise cylinder is fully extended.
Press and hold push button (3) in order to lower the boom. Record the time for lowering the access platform to the TRAVEL position.The time for the operation should be between 60 seconds and 70 seconds. If necessary, perform the following procedure in order to adjust the speed of the boom and then repeat Steps 8 and 9 until the boom lowers at the required speed.Adjust

Remove the guard plate that is located under the subframe. The control valve (access) (7) is located at the rear, right side of the subframe.
Loosen locknut (6) .
