Notify personnel before start-up. Avoid sudden or unexpected movement of machine. Be sure propel control is in stop position before starting. Sudden movement could injure personnel. Fasten the seat belt.
Place propel lever in stop center position. Switch vibratory system off. Make sure water spray control switch is back to the OFF position. Pull up on the emergency brake/stop button.
The machine is equipped with a safety start switch therefore the directional control lever must be in the STOP position before the engine can be started.
Set throttle control lever to just less than mid-position. Insert key and turn to start, immediately release key when engine starts. (Do not crank engine longer than 10 seconds.)
Avoid prolonged engine cranking. Battery may become discharged or starter may overheat resulting in permanent damage.
When engine is started, check voltmeter for normal reading of 14 volts.Run engine at low idle for about 5 minutes or until normal engine operating temperature of 170° to 200° is reached.To check service brake bring machine to full speed in full forward at full throttle on a level, compacted, dry surface, in an un-congested area. After propel lever is pushed to stop position the machine should respond quickly and come to a complete stop in a maximum distance of ten feet.
Accidental movement of some controls will result in unexpected movement or a runaway machine. Also, do not leave machine unattended with engine running. Only one person allowed on machine. Operate machine from operators seat only. Failure to do so may cause personal injury.
