Description of Change: The alternator pulley guard has been redesigned for the above Industrial Engines. This redesigned guard will prevent component failure due to vibration fatigue and cracking that was reported in the original design.Adaptable To: The 187-9076 Alternator Gp has been redesigned with a new alternator guard assembly which is serviced by a 234-3412 Bracket (Yoke Assembly) and a 234-4772 Plate.

Alternator with redesigned pulley guardThe new bracket (yoke assembly) (1) and redesigned slotted plate (2) is adaptable to the alternators for the above listed 3406E Industrial Engines. The redesigned 187-9076 Alternator Gp is retrofitted to the 3406E (S/N: 6BR1-UP). The former 201-4875 Guard Assembly has been cancelled. The 187-9076 Alternator Gp is nonserviceable at the group level, but the individual parts are serviceable.
