Removal Procedure
Personal injury may occur from failure to properly service the batteries.Batteries give off flammable fumes that can explode. Electrolyte is an acid and can cause personal injury if it contacts the skin or eyes.Prevent sparks near the batteries. Sparks could cause vapors to explode. Do not allow jumper cable ends to contact each other or the engine. Improper jumper cable connections can cause an explosion.Always wear protective glasses when working with batteries.

Open the left side access door (1).
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery Disconnect Switch".

Remove nut (2). Remove cover (3) and cover (4).

Typical example.
Disconnect cable assembly (7) and (8). Remove cable assembly (5). Remove batteries (6). Repeat for the other batteries. Installation Procedure
Install batteries (6) In the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the nuts to cover (4) to a torque of 20 5 N m (177 44 lb in).
Tighten nut (2) hand tight.
