Potentiometer and PSC Fault Monitoring
The following information applies to excavators that are equipped with PSC and potentiometers that are used for position sensing. The fault message can be "Check the Boom", "Stick", or "Check Bucket Sensor". Refer to Illustration 1 for an example of a fault message.

If more information is desired about a specific fault message, then press the "Menu" key.
Scroll to the bottom of the "Setup Menu-Configuration" screen.
Click Click "Diagnostics".

Click "OK". The "Diagnostics" screen will appear. Refer to Illustration 3.

The "Diagnostics" screen will show that the "PSC Arm Sensors" are "Connected".Note: Even though the "Diagnostics" screen will show the "PSC Arm Sensors" are "connected", there may still be a problem with an arm sensor. Proceed to the next step in order to determine if there is a problem with one of the arm sensors.
Press the soft key for "Arm Sensors". The "Diagnostic Arm Sensor" screen will display the output for all of the arm sensors. Note that in Illustration 4, the bucket arm sensor output is N/A. The N/A in the output field confirms which sensor is not functioning.

The boom sensor, the stick sensor, and the bucket sensor are included in the "AccuGrade Ready Option" (ARO). If futher information is needed in order to troubleshoot, refer to the System Operation, Test and Adjust, KENR5924 for the sales models 311-D through 319-D, and the 345-D.
