Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Camshaft bearings must be installed into their correct position. Failure to do so will result in engine damage.

Use Tooling (A) to install bearings (1), (2), and (3) that are behind the front bearing. Install the bearings to the proper depths. Refer to Illustration 1 and refer to Step 1. Orient the bearings so that oil holes (5) are located at the tops of the bores and joints (6) are positioned, as shown.

Install front bearing (4). Carefully locate oil hole (8) at the oil gallery. Orient joint (7), as shown. End By:
Install the flywheel housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel Housing - Remove and Install".
Install the camshaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Camshaft - Install".
