(1) Cat Electronic Technician (ET) and Software CD, NETG5057 are required when using the communication adapter.Test Preparation
Clear all personnel from the machine and from the area around the machine.
Start the engine.

Engine speed dial
Set the engine speed dial at "10".
Lower the left console.
Position the machine on level ground. Check the visibility and adjust the mirrors for the best vision close to the machine.
Fully depress the service brake pedal until the service brake pedal locks mechanically.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 46° to 60° C (115° to 140° F).
Fully extend the bucket cylinder and place the bucket on the ground.
Stop the engine.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system.Note: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release".
Raise the left console.

Connect tooling (T2) to the service connector.

(1) Pressure tap for travel motor swash plate angle limit solenoid
(2) Pressure tap for swing pump power shift pressure solenoid
(3) Pressure tap for travel activation solenoid

Connect tooling (T1) 3,445 kPa (500 psi) pressure sensor to the appropriate pressure tap for the solenoid to be tested.
Turn out all the mechanical backup screws on each solenoid valve.Test Procedure
Start the engine.

Set the engine speed dial at "1".
Lower the rail axles in order that all tires are fully off the ground, and shunt the road mode. This action will allow the wheels to turn freely.Note: All tires must be fully off the ground.
Fully extend the bucket cylinder and place the bucket on the ground.
Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine.
Start Electronic Technician.
Select the "Machine ECM" from the list of available controls.
From the top menu, select "Diagnostics".
From the pull-down menu, select "Diagnostic Test".
Select "Override Parameters".
Select the appropriate solenoid to be tested.
Override the current of the solenoid shown in Table 1 and compare the pressure specification to the pressure reading.
If the pressure reading at the given amperage is out of specification, replace the solenoid valve.
