Conveyor and Auger Control
For machines configured with two material height sensors, the right and left conveyor control dials vary the relative speed of the conveyors to the augers. When the control setting is at zero percent, the conveyor dials provide the maximum speed differential between the conveyors and the augers. At zero percent, the conveyor operates at the minimum speed. When the control setting is at 100 percent, the dials provide the minimum speed differential between the conveyors and the augers. At 100 percent, the conveyor operates at the maximum speed. For machines configured with four material height sensors, the right and left conveyor control dials vary the speed of the conveyors. The varied speed is based on the height of material at the back of the conveyors. The height of the material at the back of the conveyors is measured by the conveyor material height sensors. In the four sensor configuration, the conveyors and the augers operate independently.Machine ECM (14) automatically detects if the machine is equipped with paddle sensors or sonic sensors. The ECM monitors the status of the following terminals:"J1-34" - right conveyor"J1-33" - left conveyor"J2-45" - right auger"J2-44" - left augerWhen paddle sensors are installed, these terminals are floating. When sonic sensors are installed, these terminals are grounded by the sensor. For machines configured with zero material height sensors, the augers and conveyors operate in open-loop mode. Auger and conveyor speeds are controlled by the corresponding speed dials.Note: The operator configures the number of sensors used for the material feed system through the operator display. If "Zero" sensors is selected, installed sensors will not be used.Machine ECM (14) compares the input signals from the conveyor material height sensors to the input signals from the conveyor control dials. In this case, the machine ECM determines if the actual amount of material at the end of the conveyors matches the desired amount (setpoint). If the actual amount of material is greater than the desired amount at the end of the conveyors, machine ECM (14)
