Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the exhaust extension. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Extension - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

Remove two bolts (3), the nuts, and the washers that hold tube assembly (2) to muffler (1) .
Loosen clamp (4) that holds muffler (1) to manifold (5) .
Remove the muffler (1) from the machine.Installation Procedure

Install muffler (1) onto manifold (5). Tighten clamp (4) .
Apply 5p-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the threads and the bearing surfaces of bolts (3) .
Position tube (2) to the original location on muffler (1) .
Install bolts (3) in order to secure tube (2) to muffler (1). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 30 7 N m (22 5 lb ft).End By: Install the exhaust extension. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Extension - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
