Modify the Electrical Harness
Earlier trucks do not have DT connectors. Modify the electrical harness, if necessary.Reference: Special Instruction, SEHS9615, "Servicing Deutsch HD and DT Style Connectors"
Remove the existing terminals from the ends of the wires.
Crimp a 186-3736 Connector Socket to each wire. Refer to Special Instruction, SEHS9615, "Servicing Deutsch HD and DT Style Connectors" for the proper procedure.
Install the power wire into position 1 on the 155-2269 Connector Plug As . Install the ground wire into position 2 on the 155-2269 Connector Plug As . Secure wires with 155- 2261 Plug Lock Wedge Modification of Grill
Remove the grill. Retain all bolts, washers and mounting hardware.

Modify the grill. Refer to Illustration 2.

Weld two 242-5450 Plates (1) to the modified grill. Use 3 mm (0.12 inch) fillet welds (W1) .Note: Remove the paint from the weld area.

Use the holes in 242-5450 Plate as a template to drill two holes (F) in the grill. The holes have a diameter of 15.5 mm (0.61 inch).
Repaint the welded areas of the grill.
Use the hardware that was retained to install the grill.

Use the hardware that was retained to install the parts.Note: Secure the harness to the back of the bracket.
