Install seal (31) and retaining ring (30) .

Install swashplate (28) and two spacer plates (27) .

Install nine pistons (26) and the plate.
Install two spacer plates (25) and four bolts (24) .

Install shaft (21) .
Install O-ring seal (23) on plug (20). Install O-ring seal (22) on cover (19) .

Install plug (20). The torque for plug (20) is 101.5 4.5 N m (75 3 lb ft).
Install cover (19) and three bolts (18). The torque for bolts (18) is 8.5 1 N m (75 9 lb in).

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to assemble barrel assembly (13) .
Put two washers (16) and spring (15) into barrel assembly (13) .
Compress spring (15) until Tooling (A) is below the groove for retaining ring (17) .
Install retaining ring (17) and slowly release the spring tension.

Install piston (14) and spring (11) .
Install barrel assembly (13) and spacer (12) .

If necessary, heat the head assembly to 121°C (250°F) and install two rods (8) .
Install pin (7) and bearing cup (6) .

Install head assembly (1). Install two nuts (4), and tighten nuts to a torque of 70 7 N m (52 5 lb ft). Install four bolts (2), and tighten bolts to a torque of 70 7 N m (52 5 lb ft).
Install coupler (3) on the steering pump.

Use a dial indicator to check the axial shaft end play. Put the dial indicator on the end of the shaft and pull on the shaft.The correct axial shaft end play is 0.01 to 0.10 mm (0.0004 to 0.004 inch). Use the correct shim to achieve this dimension.End By:
Install the pressure and flow compensator valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pressure and Flow Compensator Valve (Steering) - Remove and Install".
Install the steering pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Pump (Steering) - Install".
