Before making any adjustments to the generator the engine must be shut off and the main disconnect switch on the controller must be in the off position. Personal injury can occur.Close all controller panel doors before the generator is started. Personal injury can occur.Never handle the leads to the magnet unless the generator is stopped and the main disconnect switch on the controller is in the off position. Personal injury can occur.

(2) Generator
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position in order to stop the engine.
Place the grapple/magnet switch (1) in the grapple position. The grapple/magnet switch is located on the right console.
Place the disconnect switch for the generator in the OFF position. The disconnect switch for the generator is on the controller.
Remove the cover to the drive shaft of the generator.
Attach 1U-6605 Reflective Tape to the drive shaft of the generator.
Start the engine and operate the engine at low idle.
With the engine at low idle, place the disconnect switch for the generator in the ON position.
Place the grapple/magnet switch (1) in the magnet position. The grapple/magnet switch is located on the right console.
Move the engine speed dial to position 10. The engine is now in high idle.
Use the monitor to verify that the engine speed is at high idle.Note: The AEC is disabled when the grapple/magnet switch is in the magnet position. The generator should now be running.

(3) Adjusting screw for Priority flow

(4) Power resistor
With the engine at high idle, adjust the speed of the generator to 1800 50 RPM.
Adjust the speed of the generator by turning the screw (3) for priority flow. The screw (3) for priority flow is located on the valve for the generator. By turning the adjusting screw clockwise, the speed of the generator is decreased. By turning the adjusting screw counterclockwise, the speed of the generator is increased.
Adjust the voltage between 235 5 VDC (no load).
Operate the generator with the engine at high idle. Use a digital multimeter in order to observe the voltage.
Stop the generator and the engine. Adjust the power resistor (4) for the controller. The voltage increases when the lead is moved downward. The voltage decreases when the lead is moved upward.
Close all of the access panels. Start the engine and operate the generator. Check the voltage. If the voltage is not correct, repeat the procedure to adjust the voltage. Adjust the voltage until the correct voltage is obtained.

(5) Disconnect switch for the Generator
Stop the generator and turn the key start switch to the OFF position in order to stop the engine.
Move the disconnect switch (5) for the generator on the controller to the OFF position.
Install the magnet and connect the main leads to the magnet.
Move the disconnect switch (5) for the generator on the controller to the ON position.
