(A) Center Tube (B) HousingDuring the service procedure of the Hydraulic Filter Element the Center Tube (A) in Housing (B) must remain in place. Refer to Illustration 1. In some instances Center Tube (A) can become loose and inadvertently be removed with Filter Element (C). If Center Tube (A) is not present, the element has no support and will be crushed under hydraulic system pressure. This action could result in the hydraulic oil not being filtered.Solution

(A) Center Tube (B) Housing (C) Filter ElementEnsure that when servicing this filter group that Center Tube (A) is secure and remains in place. If Center Tube (A) is loose, apply Loctite 271 to the threads and tighten the center tube to Housing (B) to 15 N m (11.0 lb ft). Refer to Illustration 2.
