Note: Initial Oil Filter Change - Change the transmission oil filter after the initial 100 service hours. The transmission oil change is not required at this time.

Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact the skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove filter drain plug (3). Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. Replace filter drain plug (3). Tighten to 35 4 N m (26 3 lb ft).
Remove oil filter housing (2). Discard the used oil filter element that is inside of housing (2). Additional oil will drain when you remove the filter. Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.
A new seal for housing (2) is provided with the filter element. Replacement of the seal is recommended.
Install the new oil filter element in the housing (2) .
Install housing (2) and the new element into filter base (1). Tighten the housing to 55 5 N m (41 4 lb ft). Do not use an air wrench to tighten.
Make sure that the transmission is in NEUTRAL. Start the engine and operate the engine at low idle. Check for any leaks and make the necessary repairs.

Remove dipstick (4) and check the oil level when the oil is warm and the transmission is in the NEUTRAL position. Make sure that the parking brake is engaged.
Stop the engine. If necessary, add oil.
Install the dipstick.
