Separate the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Separate".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, and on all hose assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Install Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to cover assembly (2). Remove bolts (1). Remove cover assembly (2) from the inside rear of the track roller frame assembly. The weight of cover assembly (2) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb).

Disconnect hose assemblies (3), (4), (5), and (6) .

Remove bolts (7) and cover assembly (8) .

Install Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to cover assembly (10). Remove bolts (9). Remove cover assembly (10). The weight of cover assembly (10) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb).

Position Tooling (B) under the undercarriage frame assembly. Raise the side of the machine in order for the track roller frame assembly to clear the track.

Pull hose assemblies (3), (4), (5), and (6) through the track roller frame assembly and position hose assemblies (3), (4), (5), and (6) out of the way.

Fasten two suitable lifting devices to track roller frame assembly (11) .

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove bolts (12) and the spacers. Remove track roller frame assembly (11). The weight of track roller frame assembly (11) is approximately 8400 kg (18,500 lb).
