To prevent personal injury, be sure all personnel are clear of the machine. Sound the horn for several seconds before starting the engine.
Keep engine speed low until the engine oil pressure registers on the gauge or the engine oil indicator light goes out.If the gauge does not register or the light does not go out within ten seconds, stop the engine and investigate the cause before starting again. Failure to do so, can cause engine damage.

Move vibratory control (3) to the OFF position.
Move propel control (1) to the STOP position.
Push parking brake knob (2) downward.

Pull throttle control (4) outward for 38 mm (1.5 inch). Lock the throttle in position.
In order to crank the engine, turn key (5) to the START position. When the engine starts, release the key.
