Personal injury or death can result from a bucket falling.Keep personnel away from the front of the machine when lowering the bucket.

If the engine has been off for a short period of time, the attachment can be lowered to the ground. Turn the engine start switch key to the ON position. Move the single lever control to the LOWER position.Move the machine to level ground and to a location that is not in the work area.If the engine has been off for a long period of time and the engine is operable, start the engine and move the single lever control to the LOWER position.If the engine has been off for a long period of time and the engine is not operable, the following procedure is performed by one person.

The bypass valve is located on the loader control valve under the cab on the right side of the machine.The attachment will start lowering when the bypass valve is opened.Keep personnel away from the front of the machine.

Slowly, loosen the outer plug of the bypass valve counterclockwise for three to four turns.The attachment will lower to the ground.After the attachment is lowered to the ground, turn the plug of the bypass valve clockwise. Tighten the plug to 28 7 N m (248 62 lb in).Machines That are Equipped with Load Check Valves

On a machine that is equipped with load check valves, the bucket lower switch must be used. Turn the engine start switch key to the ON position. Press the top of the bucket lower switch and hold the bucket lower switch. Move the single lever control to the LOWER position. If the engine has been off for a long period of time, loosen the plug of the bypass valve. Turn the engine start switch key to the ON position. Press the top of the bucket lower switch and hold the bucket lower switch.
