Assembly Procedure
Note: Inspect all O-ring seals for wear or for damage. Replace the O-ring seals, if necessary.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install O-ring seal (15) on plug (16). Install plug (16), spring (14), and spool (13) in diverter valve (3).

Install cartridge assembly (11) and O-ring seals (12) in diverter valve (3). Tighten cartridge assembly (11) to a torque of 26 1 N m (19 1 lb ft).

Install solenoid (9) on diverter valve (3) and secure solenoid (9) with fastener (10). Tighten fastener (10) to a torque of 8 1 N m (70.8 8.9 lb in).
Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for remaining diverter valves (3).

Fasten diverter valves (3) together with bolts (8).

Install spool (5) in valve body (1).
Install O-ring seals (6) and backup ring (7) on cartridge assembly (4).
Install cartridge assembly (4) in valve body (1).
Repeat Steps 6 through 8 for remaining cartridge assembly (4) and valve bodies (1).

Install connectors (2) and valve body (1) on diverter valve (3).
Repeat Step 10 for remaining connectors (2) and valve body (1). End By:
Install the control manifold. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Control Manifold - Install".
