Schematic of the Right Stabilizer Cylinder Retract SolenoidThis diagnostic code is associated with the Right Stabilizer Cylinder Retract Solenoid. FMI 05 indicates that the ECM has detected that an open exists in the circuit of the Right Stabilizer Cylinder Retract Solenoid. The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
The energize circuit of the solenoid is open.
The return circuit of the solenoid is open.
The solenoid has failed.
A relay has failed.
The stabilizer switch has failed.
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely. Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these codes until the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 2290 FMI 05 is active before performing this procedure.Note: Use the 146-4080 Digital Multimeter for the measurements in this procedure.System Response:The Right Stabilizer Cylinder Retract control will be disabled until the diagnostic has been corrected.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOLENOID.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
Disconnect the Right Stabilizer Cylinder Retract Solenoid from the machine harness.
At the machine harness connector for the solenoid, place a jumper wire from contact 1 (wire 779-WH) to contact 2 (wire C917-YL).
