Component Code: 3033SUBJECT: Acceleration or Deceleration Switch May Stick on 185-1106 or 208-6100 Handles Used on the Transmission/Steering Joystick.
PROBLEM:
Reports from the field indicate that the acceleration or deceleration switches may stick, leading to one or more of the following symptoms:
Logged service codes of CID 1701 FMI 02 (acceleration switch) or CID 1702 FMI 02 (deceleration switch).
Transmission stuck in 1st or 2nd gear.
Transmission will not up shift.
Transmission will not down shift.
SOLUTION:
Caterpillar engineering is aware of this problem and a solution is being investigated. In the meantime, follow this procedure to correct a sticking problem in lieu of, or prior to, replacing the handle.
1. Remove any clear plastic shipping wrap on the handle. This wrap can cause the switch to stick.
