Information:
1. Make an adjustment to tooling (B) until the height is approximately 108 cm (42.5 in.). Make an adjustment to tooling (C) until the height is 72.4 cm (28.5 in.).
Keep away from the area of the machine when it is driven up on tooling (A) at the front of the machine and the rear of the machine. Tooling (A) can come out from under the tracks with force if it is not installed correctly.
2. Put tooling (A) at the rear of the machine as shown. Start the machine and move it to the rear and up on tooling (A). Put tooling (C) in position under the bevel gear case. The weight of the rear of the machine will not be on tooling (C) until the front of the machine is lifted with tooling (A). Put tooling (A) in position in front of the machine. Move the machine slowly forward and up on tooling (A). As the front of the machine goes up the rear of the machine will come down on tooling (C). Lift the front of the machine until tooling (B) can be installed under the radiator guard an main frame of the machine as shown. Tooling (A), at the rear of the machine, will be free to remove from under the tracks. Move both tracks to the rear until tooling (A) is free at the front of the machine. 3. Remove guard assemblies (1) and (2). 4. Compress the recoil spring as follows: a. Put a slug (3) that is 76.2 mm (3 in.) in diameter and 63.5 mm (2.5 in.) long in the sprocket segment as shown. Start the machine and move it to the rear slowly. Make sure when the slug makes contact with the track, it makes contact with a bushing as shown.b. As the machine is moved to the rear with the slug in position, the recoil spring will be put under compression.c. Move the machine until the front pilot of the recoil spring assembly is approximately 3.2 mm (.125 in.) away from the stops that are fastened to the track roller frame.d. Remove bolt (4) and washer (6). Tighten nut (5) by hand to hold the recoil spring in a shorter position. Move the machine forward slowly and remove the slug from the sprocket.5. Install guards (1) and (2).6. Make a separation of the track. See, Separation of Tracks. 7. Remove guard assemblies (7) and (8). 8. Remove four bolts (9) and nuts. Pull the front idler and yoke forward on the track roller frame. 9. Remove hydraulic track adjuster (10). 10. Remove O-ring seal (11). The following steps are for the installation the hydraulic track adjuster.11. Install a new O-ring seal in the front pilot of the recoil spring assembly. Put 1P808 General Lubricant on the seal.12. Put hydraulic track adjuster (10) in position in the recoil spring assembly.13. Check the condition of the seal and ring in the hydraulic track adjuster. If the parts have damage, see, Assemble
