Removal Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove the bolts and plate (2) from the rear of the machine.
Remove the bolt that holds clip (3) to the transmission. Move the clip and hose (1) away from the control valve.

Disconnect the rod ends (4) from the control valve.
Remove cover (5) .

Disconnect wire harness (6) from switch (7) .
Remove the bolt that holds clip (6) in place. Move the wire harness away from the control valve.

Remove the bolts, flywheel clutch control valve (8), and the gasket from the transmission.
