(15)Engine Crankcase
Machine level, bowl lowered, parking brake set, oil warm and engine stopped.
1. Remove crankcase drain plug access plate. 2. Remove drain plug. Allow oil to drain. 3. Remove used filters.4. Clean seal contact surface of filter base. Be sure all of used filter seal is removed. 5. Coat seal of new filter with clean oil.6. Install new oil filter. When filter seal contacts filter base, tighten an additional 3/4 turn.
Do not overtighten.
7. Install drain plug and access plate. 8. Remove filler plug. Fill crankcase. See REFILL CAPACITIES.9. Install filler plug.10. Start engine and run at low idle to fill filters. Check for leaks.11. Stop engine. Check oil level.(16)Alternator And Air Compressor Belts
Alternator Belts:
1. Check condition and adjustment of belts. Adjust or replace as necessary. 2. Correct adjustment allows 9/16 to 13/16 inch (14 to 20 mm) deflection.To Adjust:
1. Loosen alternator mounting bolt and bracket bolt. 2. Move alternator to tighten or loosen belts.3. Tighten bolts and recheck adjustment.Air Compressor Belt

1. Check tractor brake linings for excessive wear. (Brakes are self-adjusting). 2. Check scraper brake linings if tractor brake linings are worn excessively. Scraper wheels must be removed to inspect scraper brake linings (see item 29).(18)Brake Hydraulic Master Cylinders
Check fluid level at front and rear brake cylinder reservoir fill plugs (effective with 71M462 the front master cylinder reservoir is located under the operator's seat). Maintain level to bottom of plug openings.(19)Steering Bellcrank Bearing Pivot
Lubricate 1 fitting.(20)Elevator Idler Rollers
71M1363-UP lubricate 1 fitting in each roller. (71M1219-71M1362 fitting was located on inside of roller shaft.) Total 2 fittings.(21)Elevator Upper Idlers
71M1363-UP lubricate 1 fitting in each idler. (71M1219-71M1362 fitting was located on face of idler.) Total 2 fittings.
