GOVERNOR GROUP 4L1144 - Caterpillar

Do not disconnect the air lines until the air pressure in the system is at zero. If hose is disconnected under pressure it can cause personal injury.
1. Remove the air pressure from the air tank.2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.3. Remove water outlet tube (1) water inlet tubes (4), oil supply tube (6) and air inlet tube (2) from the cylinder head.4. Disconnect air outlet hose (3) and two hoses (5) from the air compressor governor. 5. Remove bolts (8) and remove air compressor (7) from the engine. The weight of the air compressor is 22 kg (48 lb.).6. If a replacement of the bearing for the air compressor drive is needed, the water pump will have to be removed.7. 1. Put the gasket in place and install air compressor (1). Be sure clip (2) on tube assembly is in position. 2. Connect four tubes (3), (4), (6) and (8) to the air compressor. Connect three hose assemblies (5) and (7).3. Fill cooling system to the correct level.
