Disassembly and Assembly, SENR8950, "M312 Excavator Machine Systems", "Disassemble and Assemble Stabilizer Cylinders". This module is a part of Service Manual, SENR8940.Disassembly and Assembly, SENR8930, "M315 Excavators Machine Systems", "Disassemble and Assemble Stabilizer Cylinders". This module is a part of Service Manual, SENR8920.The assembly procedure for the stabilizer cylinder does not contain torque specifications for the collar, the piston, and the nut. The last four steps for the procedure are corrected according to the following statements.
Install ring (11), backup ring (24), O-ring seal (18), and ring (15) on piston (12) .
Put piston (12) on cylinder rod (27). Use a suitable spanner wrench in order to tighten the piston to 600 N m (440 lb ft). Install nut (9) in order to retain the piston. Use Tooling (C) and tighten nut (9) to a torque of 130 N m (95 lb ft).
Install O-ring seal (21) on collar (26). Use Tooling (A) in order to carefully install cylinder (3) on cylinder rod (27). Extend the cylinder rod to the full position. Use Tooling (B) and tighten collar (26) to the torque of 800 N m (590 lb ft). Install pin (22) and tighten to a torque of 150 N m (110 lb ft).
Install grease fitting (29) in cylinder rod (27) .Note: Please refer to the following publication for proper tooling: Tool Operating Manual, NEHS0629, "Using the 9U-78689U-7869 Spanner Wrench to Remove and Install Threaded Gland Cylinder Heads".
