The Fuel Correction Adjustment allows fine tuning of future fuel use data based on past differences between the ECM stored value and your recorded fuel usage.Accessing Fuel Correction Adjustment
An ECM Customer Programmable Parameter determines access to this function of the dash display. If the ECM is not programmed to allow access this screen, the entire Fuel Correction Adjustment column of the Screen Map will not be shown. Therefore, pressing the Right Arrow key from the THEFT DETERRENT title screen or pressing the Left Arrow key from the DISPLAY CONFIGURATION title screen will skip over the FUEL CORRECTION ADJUSTMENT title screen. After programming the parameter in the ECM, power to the display must be turned OFF and then back ON for the display to recognize the change.Fuel correction adjustments should only be made following an extended operating period with the vehicle driving on its usual routes. Adjusting the fuel correction effects all future Fuel Used data: Instantaneous, Driver Trip, Fleet Trip, and Lifetime Totals. It is recommended fuel correction adjustments be made when the vehicle is not moving.Adjusting Fuel Correction
Determining Actual Fuel Economy
Before an accurate adjustment can be made, the actual fuel usage and distance traveled must be tracked. Because the display uses the Fleet Trip Segment as a basis for fuel correction adjustment it is easier to begin tracking actual fuel used and distance traveled immediately following a Fleet Trip Segment Reset.Following an extended period of time on typical driving routes, calculate the Actual Fuel Economy from the Fuel Used and Distance Traveled as follows:Entering Actual Fuel Economy
1. From the FUEL CORRECTION ADJUSTMENT title screen, press the Down arrow key. The display will show the current Fleet Fuel Economy on the top line, and indicate a blinking cursor (left most digit) next to the word ACTUAL on the second line of the display.2. Pressing the Down arrow key scrolls through numbers 0 - 9, beginning with 9. Pressing the Up arrow key begins with the number 1. If the first entry space is not needed, press the Right arrow key and the second digit begins flashing. When the appropriate number is in view, press the Right arrow key and select the digit after the decimal point. When the last digit is successfully selected, press the Right arrow key and the display will indicate the Actual Fuel Economy just entered. If the number is correct, press the Left arrow key.3. If the Actual Fuel Economy shown is correct, press the Left arrow key and a message will appear acknowledging your fuel correction adjustment. If an error was made entering the Actual Fuel Economy, press the Down, Up, or Right arrow key and the display returns to the FUEL CORRECTION ADJUSTMENT ENTRY screen (with the just-entered numbers cleared), allowing you to re-enter the Actual Fuel Economy.Fuel Correction Out-of-Range Message
The FUEL CORRECTION OUT OF RANGE message will be displayed if the entered Fuel Rate Correction exceeded allowable limits. Depress any key and the display will return to the FUEL CORRECTION ADJUSTMENT
