Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.Steam can cause personal injury.Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure.Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.

Loosen hose clamp (1) and disconnect hose (2) .

Loosen hose clamps (4) and (5) and remove hoses (3) and (6) .

Remove bolts (8) and remove bracket (7) .

Remove bolts (9). Repeat for the other side.

Remove two bolts (13) and remove bracket (12) .
Remove hose (10) from fuel cooler (14) and guide hose (10) through opening (11) .

Slide radiator (15) away from the machine and attach a suitable lifting device to the radiator.
Use a suitable lifting device in order to remove radiator (15). The weight of the radiator is approximately 57 kg (125 lb).Installation Procedure

Connect hose (10) to fuel cooler (14) .
Install bracket (12) and bolts (13) .

Install bolts (9). Repeat for the other side.

Connect hoses (3) and (6) and tighten hose clamps (4) and (5) .

Install the hydraulic oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Oil Cooler - Remove and Install".
Install the aftercooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Aftercooler - Remove and Install".
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance ManualSEBU7547, "Cooling System Extended Life Coolant - Change".
