If necessary, remove hairpin clips (5) from retainer plates (3) and allow to hang from lanyards (6) .
Insert single chain link (8) into retainer plate (3), as shown. Attach hairpin clip (5) to retainer plate to lock chain sling (7) to lifting beam (10) .

Count chain links (8) above or below the attached retainer plate (3) .

Insert single chain link (8) into opposite retainer plate (3) at the same location on the second leg of chain sling (7). Attach hairpin clip (5) to retainer plate to lock chain sling to lifting beam (10) .
Make sure the number of chain links (8) above and below each retainer plate (3) are equal. Make sure that the angle between lifting beam assembly (10) and each leg of chain sling (7) is a minimum of 42°.
To avoid damage to the lifting beam assembly, chain sling, and related components, maintain a minimum 42° angle between each leg of the chain sling and lifting beam assembly.

If necessary, attach chain sling (7) (with lifting beam assembly (10) attached) to a suitable overhead lifting device.Note: Refer to the appropriate assembly and disassembly service manual for correct procedures for attaching and lifting the load.Note: Two chain slings (7) and lifting beam assemblies (10) can be attached to a suitable load lever (9) for four point lifting.Maintenance Section

Inspect prior to each use for nicks, burrs, dents, cracks, bends, or worn parts. If damage is found, discontinue use until inspected and released for use by an approved inspector at the dealership.

Lightly lubricate sliding parts as needed, for smooth operation.Storage
Store tooling indoors in a clean, dry location to prevent rust or corrosion.
Store the lifting beam assembly lying flat, or hanging from a suitable hook, to prevent falling.Tool Disposal
At the end of the operational life of the tool, destroy the tool and dispose of as scrap.
