At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the fill cap on the hydraulic oil tank only when the engine is stopped, and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
1. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system by slowly loosening the fill cap on top of the hydraulic oil tank.2. Drain the hydraulic oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable container. The capacity of the hydraulic oil tank is 118 liters (31 U.S. gal). 3. Disconnect two electrical connectors (3) for the brake/shift valve.4. Disconnect six hose assemblies (1) from brake/shift valve (4). Cap and plug immediately.5. Remove three bolts (2), and remove brake/shift valve (4) from the hydraulic oil tank. For installation of the brake/shift valve, reverse the removal steps. After the brake/shift valve has been installed, fill the hydraulic oil tank to the correct level. Start By:a. remove brake/shift valve1. Make sure the brake/shift valve is clean and free of dirt and debris. 2. Bend the tabs down on lock (5). Remove nut (1) from shift coil (4) and nut (2) from brake coil (3). Remove the lock from the coils. Remove brake coil (3) and shift coil (4). When installing nuts (1) and (2), tighten the nuts to a torque of 5.5 to 8.0 N m (48 to 70 lb in). 3. Remove brake valve cartridge (6), shift valve cartridge (7) and check valve (8) from manifold (9). When installing brake valve cartridge (6) and shift valve cartridge (7), tighten the valve cartridges to a torque of 45 to 54 N m (35 to 40 lb ft). 4. Remove back-up ring (10) and O-ring seals (11) from check valve (8). Check the back-up ring and O-ring seals for wear or damage and replace if necessary. 5. Remove O-ring seals (12) and back-up rings (13) from the brake valve cartridge and the shift valve cartridge. Check the O-ring seals and back-up rings for wear or damage and replace if necessary. For assembly of the brake/shift valve, reverse the disassembly steps. All valve components must be cleaned and inspected before assembly. Lubricate all moving parts with clean hydraulic oil during assembly. Assemble the valve with all new seals.End By:a. install brake/shift valve
