1. Remove inspection cover (1) from clutch housing (2). 2. Turn the flywheel until one adjustment locknut (5) can be seen. Loosen locknut (5) two turns. Hit plate (3) lightly to make certain it is loose.3. Turn the flywheel 180° and loosen the other locknut (5) and plate (3) as in Step 2. 4. Turn adjusting ring (4) clockwise to increase tension of flywheel clutch control lever while engaging the clutch. Locate the adjusting ring (4) at a point so that a force of 55 5 lb. (245 22 N) is needed to engage the clutch. Measure this force needed at the top of the flywheel clutch control lever (7) without the handle.5. Tighten each of the two locknuts (5) to a torque of 30 lb.ft. (40 N m)6. With the clutch ENGAGED, make adjustment to linkage (8) to have distance (A) 4.921 .188 in. (125 3.0 mm) from end of control lever (7) and outer edge of cover (6).Adjustment Of Interlock Linkage For Flywheel Clutch:
1. Loosen the locknut and turn end (9) to decrease dimension (B).2. While a shift of the transmission is made with the flywheel clutch NOT ENGAGED, decrease dimension (B) until movement of rod (10) is felt.3. When movement of rod (10) is felt, increase dimension (B) by turning end (9) two full turns. After adjustment, dimension (B) will be approximately 4.656 in. (118.25 mm). Correct adjustment of dimension (B) provides correct alignment of the plungers and the interlock shaft.
