INTEGRATED TOOLCARRIER, WHEEL LOADER,
Information:
High Pressure Cylinder. Do not remove any valve, hydraulic fitting, or valve core, nor disassemble any parts until pressure has been relieved or personal injury may occur.
To relieve pressure:1. Shut off engine and lower suspension. Hold in "lower" position for five minutes for hydraulic system pressure to dissipate.2. Relive gas pressure in the accumulator cylinder by depressing core of charging valve. Charge cylinder with dry nitrogen gas. See your caterpillar dealer for tools and detailed information required for charging cylinders.
Improper jumper cable connections can cause explosion resulting in personal injury. Batteries may be located in separate compartments. When using jumper cables always connect positive (+) cable to positive (+) terminal of battery connected to starter solenoid and negative (-) cable for external source to starter negative (-) terminal. (If machine not equipped with starter negative terminal, connect to engine block.) Follow procedure in the Operation Manual.
7S5437 Nitrogen Charging Group(1) Pressure gauge.(2) Connection to nitrogen cylinder valve.(3) Regulator assembly.(4) Valve.(5) Pressure gauge.(6) Pressure regulating screw.(7) Valve handle.(8) Chuck.
Parts From The 7S5437 Nitrogen Charging Group(4) Valve.(5) Pressure gauge.(7) Valve handle.(8) Chuck. 1. Remove two bolts (9). Remove guard (10). 2. Remove cap (11) from the valve assembly on accumulator (12).3. Use the 13 800 kPa (2000 psi) gauge (5) to check the nitrogen charge in the accumulator. 4. Install chuck (8) on the valve of the accumulator.5. Turn valve (7) on chuck (8) completely in (clockwise).6. Check the pressure on gauge (5).7. Open valve (4) slowly to bleed the accumulator of dry nitrogen.
Nitrogen is under high pressure. To prevent personal injury follow the procedures carefully. Direct the discharge hose away from all personnel. Discharge nitrogen in a well ventilated area.
8. When pressure gauge (5) reads (0 psi), turn valve (7) on chuck (8) completely out (counterclockwise).9. Close valve (4) and disconnect chuck (8) from the valve assembly on the top of the accumulator. 10. Install cap (11) to the valve assembly on accumulator (12).11. Install Tool (B) to the top of the accumulator. 12. Remove two bolts (14) from strap (13). 13. Disconnect swivel tee (15) from accumulator (12).14. Remove four bolts and two half-flanges. Disconnect hose assembly (16). Cap or plug off immediately. 15. Remove two bolts (17) from the bottom of the accumulator. 16. Attach a hoist to Tool (B) and remove the accumulator. The accumulator weighs 34 kg (75 lb). Install in the reverse order. For charging the accumulator see the topic Accumulator-Charge and Test Procedure in this module.Accumulator-Front, Disassemble & Assemble
Start By:a. remove accumulator-front 1. Mount the accumulator on a suitable holding device. Place two bolts in holes on end cap. Place bar (C) between two bolts. Remove the end cap. Before installing the end cap, replace the O-ring. Then, tighten the end cap to a torque of 610 N m (450 lb ft). 2. Remove back-up seal (2) and O-ring seal (1) from end cap (3). 3. Remove circlip (4) with Tooling (B), then remove poppet (6) and poppet guide (5) from end cap (3).
