Support load block (2) and hook block (3). Relieve tension on hook load line (1).
Remove cotter pin (4), retainer pin (6), and load block pin (5) to remove the load block and hook block from the boom. Replace the load block pin in the boom and secure with the retainer pin and the cotter pin.Note: Use caution when removing load block pin (5). Once the pin is removed, trunnion (7) is free to pivot downward with significant force.
Allow the load block and the hook block to rest on the ground while the boom is being removed.

Relieve tension on the boom line.
Remove cotter pin (8), retainer pin 9, and upper boom block pin (10) to remove upper boom block (11) from the boom. Replace the upper boom block pin in the boom and secure with the retainer pin and the cotter pin.
Draw in the line for the boom and fasten the upper boom block to the machine for shipping.

Connect a lifting cable to the boom. Remove bolt, washer, and spacer (12) from both sides of the boom. Then, remove pin assembly (13) on both sides of the boom to remove the boom from the machine. Replace the pin assemblies and secure with the bolts, washers, and spacers once the boom is removed from the machine.

Store the load block (2) and hook block (3) on the front of the machine by positioning hook load line (1) over block horn (14).Removal and Installation of Counterweight
Counterweight Removal
Park the machine on a stable and level surface. Engage the parking brake.
Use the implement control to move the counterweight frame fully inward.

Front counterweights

(17) Retaining rod
Remove lock bolt (16), and then remove retaining rod (17) from the front counterweights.
Attach an appropriate lifting device to lifting point (15) at the top of the counterweight. Remove each counterweight separately from the frame.Note: Use the implement control to move the counterweight frame OUT or move the counterweight frame IN to aid in the removal of each counterweight.
Use a similar procedure to remove each one of the rear counterweights.Securing the Counterweight Frame
