Bronze material
Friction discs (A) of planetary group may wear on the machines listed above. Friction Discs (A) have bronze material separated from the disc. This disc (A) is used in clutch number seven and clutch number five but typically shows signs of wear from clutch number five and is typically found in the filter screen.Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, and is recommending the following interim corrective actions.Download and install the latest machine software.Refer to Service Magazine, M0076530, "New Software is Now Used on Certain K Series Wheel Tractor Scrapers" and Service Magazine, M0071258, "New Software is Now Used on Certain K Series Wheel Tractor Scrapers" for the K series machines to get the latest machine software.Refer to Service Magazine, M0071260, "New Software is Now Used on Certain H Series Wheel Tractor Scrapers" for H series machines to get the latest machine software.For any amount of bronze debris established, submit a Dealer Solution Network (DSN) ticket so that the Service Engineer and Design Engineer can help to make a better determination if the amount of debris is excessive and action needs to transpire or the quantity is within an acceptable range.
