Information:

This operation was done on a single shank ripper.1. Remove the ripper shank from the ripper beam (carriage). The weight is 2000 lb. (907 kg).
The ripper beam (carriage) and ripper frame can move when the hydraulic cylinders are disconnected or removed. To prevent bodily injury, put correct blocks or stands under the ripper beam (carriage) and ripper frame as support for the weight. Hydraulic oil that is under pressure and hot can cause bodily injury. Move the control lever to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system. Slowly loosen the cap to release any pressure in the hydraulic tank. Let the hydraulic oil become cool before any lines are disconnected in the hydraulic system.
1. Disconnect oil lines (1) and (3) from the ripper pin puller cylinder. 2. Remove clamps (2) and (4) that hold oil lines (1) and (3) to the ripper beam (carriage). 3. Put tooling (A) in position under the ripper frame.4. Put tooling (B) in position under the ripper beam (carriage). Lower the weight of the ripper on to tooling (A) and (B). 5. Fasten a hoist to the ripper tilt cylinder. Remove plate (5) and pin (6) to disconnect the rod end of the ripper tilt cylinder from the ripper beam (carriage).6. Start the machine and retract the ripper tilt cylinder rod from the ripper beam (carriage). Lower the ripper tilt cylinder on the ripper lift cylinder.7. Follow Steps 5 and 6 to disconnect the other ripper tilt cylinder from the ripper beam (carriage). 8. Fasten a hoist to ripper beam (carriage) (7). Remove tooling (B). 9. Remove plate (8) from each side of the ripper beam (carriage). Use tooling (C) and remove pin (9) and shims from each side of the ripper beam (carriage). The weight of pins (9) are 75 lb. (34 kg) each. Remove ripper beam (carriage) (7) from the ripper frame. The weight is 5200 lb. (2359 kg). The weight of a multishank ripper beam (carriage) is approximately 6500 lb. (2948 kg).Install Ripper Beam (Carriage)
1. Make sure tooling (A) is installed under the ripper frame and the weight is on the tooling.2. Fasten a hoist to ripper beam (carriage) (1) and put it in position on the ripper frame. 3. Install shims (3) (as needed) to put the ripper beam (carriage) in the center of the ripper frame. Use the same amount of shims on each side of the machine. If pins (2) can not be installed by hand, see Step 5.4. Install pins (2) to connect the ripper beam (carriage) to the ripper frame. 5. If necessary, use tooling (C) and a hammer to install pins (2). Install the plates that hold the pins in place.6. Put tooling (B) in position under the ripper beam (carriage).7. Lift the ripper tilt cylinder with a hoist. Start the machine and extend the ripper tilt cylinder rod until the bores of the ripper beam (carriage) are in alignment with the bore in the rod. 8. Install pin (4) and the plate
