Start the engine and fully retract the bucket cylinder. Fully extend the stick and lower the boom until the bucket is lowered onto the ground. Position Tooling (A) under the boom. Shut off the engine.

Attach suitable lifting devices to stick cylinder (1). The weight of stick cylinder (1) is approximately 326 kg (719 lb). Remove pin (2). Start the engine and fully retract stick cylinder (1).
Shut off the engine.
Relieve hydraulic system pressure.

Remove hose assembly (3).

Remove pin (5). Remove stick cylinder (1).Installation Procedure
Install stick cylinder (1) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (B) to pin (5) and pin (2) prior to installation.
Fill the hydraulic oil tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic Oil Level - Check".Disassembly and Assembly Information

When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.
Do not use threaded rods that have not been hardened as tooling with hydraulic cylinders. The maximum rated tonnage should be stamped on one end of the puller studs. Do not use threaded rods that have not been stamped with the rated tonnage.
Note: Tooling (D) is for the removal and installation of the bearings at the rod end and the head end of the stick cylinder.
Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.
Illustration 6 g06011780 (1) Torque for the nut ... 7600 380 N m (5605 280 lb ft). (1) Lubricate the threads of the cylinder rod with clean hydraulic oil. (2) Lubricate the inside diameter and the outside diameter with clean grease. (2A) Tighten bolts (2A) to a torque of 300 30 N m (221 22 lb ft). Turn bolts (2A) an additional 30 5 degrees. (3) Lubricate the sealing lip slightly with the lubricant that is being sealed. (4) Ensure that the seal is oriented correctly. The recess in the seal ring must face in the direction of the piston.
