Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, clean all parts thoroughly in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Typical Example
Raise the temperature of bearing cone and bearing cup (28) and lower the temperature of shaft assembly (23) .
Install the bearing cone and bearing cup (28) .
Install spring (30) and slipper (29) into shaft assembly (23) .
Install shim kit (27) , ring bearing (25) , and bearing (24) onto shaft assembly (23) . Adjust shim kit (27) in order to obtain 120 +0.0 / -0.1 mm (4.72 +0.0 / -0.004 inch) for Dimension (A) . Dimension (A) is taken from the top of retaining ring (11) to the base of shaft assembly (23) .
Install O-ring seal (26) .

Use Tooling (F) to install spacer (22) and retaining ring (21) .

Install pistons (19) , pin (18) , plate (20) , and bolts (17) .

Install spacer (16) and spring (15) in barrel (9) .
Assemble barrel (9) to the rotating group and install Tooling (A) .Note: Tooling (A) will keep the rotating group together while the rotating group is being installed into the pump housing.

Typical Example
Lower the temperature of the rotating group and raise the temperature of the pump housing.
Install the rotating group into the pump housing.
Install O-ring seal (13) to cover (13) . Install cover (12) .
Use Tooling (C) to install retaining ring (11) .
Use Tooling (B) to install retaining ring (10) .
Use Tooling (D) to pull the rotating group against retaining ring (10) .

Remove Tooling (A) and install plug (8) . Tighten plug (8) to a torque of 8 N m (71 lb in).

Install port plate (6) onto head (5) .

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Carefully install head (5) and bolts (4) . Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 350 15 N m (258 11 lb ft).

Install plug (2) and the O-ring seal.
Install sensor assembly (3) .
