(1) Service brake accumulator
(2) Parking brake accumulator Service brake accumulator (1) and parking brake accumulator (2) are located on the rear of the left-hand platform. The accumulators are charged by the accumulator charging valve. The accumulator charging valve supplies the required oil flow to engage the front and rear service brakes and to release the rear parking brakes. The relief valves in the accumulator charge valve control the amount of pressure in the brake accumulators.The braking system uses a check valve between service brake accumulator (1) and parking brake accumulator (2). The check valve only allows the parking brake accumulator (2) to be charged when using the towing pump.Note: After the ignition key is turned to the OFF position, the pressure in the brake system is fully released in approximately 45 seconds. If the engine is shut down with the engine shutdown switch that is located on the left side stairs, the accumulators will remain charged indefinitely.
