Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove bolts (1). Reposition plate assembly (2) and disconnect hose assembly (3). Remove plate assembly (2).

Remove clamp (5) and disconnect hose assemblies (4).

Attach a suitable lifting device to cylinder (8). The weight of angle cylinder (8) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb). Remove pin (6) and use Tooling (A) to remove pin (7). Remove angle cylinder (8).Installation Procedure
Install angle cylinder (8) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (H) to the threads of the bolts that hold pin (7).
After angle cylinder (8) is installed.
Check the hydraulic oil tank level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check" for the correct procedure.
Cycle the cylinder three times, getting as close to the end of stroke without going to full stroke.
Cycle the cylinder another time going to full stroke slowly. Do not hold in stall.
After cycling the cylinder, check the hydraulic oil level again.Disassembly and Assembly Information
