2. Secure the center drive shaft with a lifting sling and a hoist.3. Remove eight bolts (1) and remove center drive shaft (2). The weight of the center drive shaft is 79 kg (175 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the center drive shaft.
When the center drive shaft is installed, it must be installed in phase with the front and rear drive shafts. Be sure all joint groups, yokes and lubrication fittings (front, center, and rear) are in alignment with each other.
Illustration 24. Clean the bearing cap and yoke mounting faces.5. Align the lubrication fitting on each end of the center drive shaft.6. Put center drive shaft (2) in position and install eight bolts (1). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 530 70 Nm (400 50 lb ft). Refer to illustration 2 for the correct tightening sequence.7. Separate the steering frame lock link. See the topic "Separate & Connect Frame Lock Link" in this module.8. Lubricate the center drive shaft. Lubricate the slip spline of the center drive shaft with the machine fully articulated. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.
