Clean Strainer (if equipped) and Lift Pump Sediment Chamber
1. Remove the filler cap.2. Check the filler cap seal for damage. Install a new seal if necessary.3. Remove the retainer clip and pull out the strainer.4. Wash the strainer in clean nonflammable solvent and check for damage. Install a new strainer if necessary. 5. Remove the lift pump cover bolt (1). 6. Remove the cover and lift out the screen (2).7. Wash the screen in clean, nonflammable solvent and clean out the sediment chamber (3).8. Install the screen and cover. Tighten the cover bolt enough to seal the cover. Do not over tighten.Transmission
Change Filter and Clean Breather
Change the oil and filter element for the first time at 50 service meter hours if the transmission is new or reconditioned. After the first change, revert to this normal change interval. 1. Remove and discard the old filter. Make sure that all of the old seal is removed from the filter base. The filter will contain oil.2. Apply a thin film of clean transmission oil to the seal on the new filter and install the filter. Tighten the filter by a further 3/4 of a turn after it contacts the base. 3. Remove the breather and wash in clean, nonflammable solvent. Wipe the breather dry and install. 4. Check that there is oil visible on the transmission dipstick.5. Start the engine and check for leaks from the filter housing while the oil is warming up.6. Add oil if necessary until the level is between the ADD and FULL marks on the dipstick.7. 1. Slowly loosen the tank filler cap (1).2. Wash the filler cap in clean, nonflammable solvent and check for damage. Install a new filler cap if necessary.3. Unscrew the four retaining bolts (2) and withdraw the filter assembly. 4. Remove the old element (3) by unscrewing bolts (4) and install a new element.6. Replace the unit fitting a new cover seal if necessary.7. Clean up any oil spills.
