Remove guard (4) .
Inspect the drive belt. Check the belt for wear, fraying or cracking. If the belt is damaged, replace the belt.
If belt (2) requires replacement, insert a square drive into the hole in tensioner (6) and turn clockwise in order to release the tension from the belt.
Remove the belt from the engine.
In order to install a new belt, insert a square drive into the hole in tensioner (6) and turn clockwise.
Install belt (2) in the following order: drive pulley (8) (not shown), fan pulley (5), lower idler pulley or air conditioning compressor pulley (if equipped) (7), tensioner (6), alternator pulley (1) and top idler pulley (3) .
Install guard (4) .
