The 384-0519 Band Clamp is not built with a self-locking nut. The band clamp can loosen over time and cause exhaust leaks.Solution
A jam nut can be installed on existing non-failed clamps to improve the resistance of the clamp loosening. Install a new 8T-0193 Full Nut onto the threaded bolt of the existing clamp and torque the nut to 25 2 N m (18.5 1.5 lb ft).Note: Do not retorque the clamp nut that is currently installed.If the existing clamp is damaged or an exhaust leak is found, replace the clamp with new. Torque the nut on the t-bolt of the clamp to 17 2 N m (12.5 1.5 lb ft). After torquing the first nut, install the 8T-0193 Full Nut to act as the jam nut and torque the jam nut to 25 2 N m (18.5 1.5 lb ft).
