Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the Electronic Control Module (ECM). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electronic Control Module - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

Cut cable straps (4) from wiring harness assembly (3). Note: Note the position of cable straps that attach the wiring harness assembly to the ECM mounting bracket.
Remove bolt (7) from bracket (4) for plastic tube assembly. Position the bracket away from ECM mounting bracket (1).
Slide locking tab into the unlocked position. Disconnect wiring harness (5) from atmospheric pressure sensor (6) (not shown).
Remove bolts (2) from ECM mounting bracket (1).
Remove ECM mounting bracket (1) from the cylinder block.
If necessary, remove atmospheric pressure sensor (6) (not shown) from the ECM mounting bracket. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Atmospheric Pressure Sensor - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure. Installation Procedure

Ensure that ECM mounting bracket (1) for the electronic control module is clean and free from damage. If the mounting bracket is damaged, replace the bracket.
If necessary, install atmospheric pressure sensor (6) (not shown) to ECM mounting bracket (1). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Atmospheric Pressure Sensor - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Position ECM mounting bracket (1) onto the cylinder block.
Install bolts (2) to ECM mounting bracket (1). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in).
Connect harness assembly (5) to atmospheric pressure sensor (6) (not shown). Slide the locking tab into the locked position.
Position bracket (4) for plastic tube assembly onto ECM mounting bracket (1). Install bolt (7) to the bracket for plastic tube assembly. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in)
Install new cable straps (4) to wiring harness assembly (3). Note: Ensure that the cable straps meet the Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM) specifications.End By:
Install the electronic control module. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electronic Control Module - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
