GUARD 5347026 - Caterpillar

The long end of the 2P1276 Bulkhead Union must be installed through the bulkhead, toward the front of the engine. The 5B3254 Locknut must be installed on the long end of the union, in front of the bulkhead as shown in the Illustration.

For those machines which have had field-fabricated turbocharger steam vent tube assemblies installed, check to make sure there are no loops (circles), twists or low places that can become filled with coolant. Coolant in a low place in the tube can prevent movement of steam away from the turbocharger. The result is an overheated turbocharger which can cause turbocharger bearing and seal failures.
