Personal injury or death can result from grease and oil coming out of the relief valve.Grease and oil are under high pressure coming out of the relief valve and can penetrate the body.Do not watch the relief valve to see if grease is escaping. Watch the track or track adjustment cylinder to see if the track is being loosened. Make sure the vent holes are clean before the tension is released on the track.
Position the machine on a hard, level surface. Position the upper frame at an 90 degree angle to the lower frame in order to access the track carrier roller.
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".
Release the track tension. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Track Adjustment - Adjust".

Note: Note the orientation of track carrier roller (2) for installation purposes. The plug on track carrier roller (2) faces the outside of the machine.
Attach a suitable lifting device through the opening in the track assembly to track carrier roller (2), as shown. The weight of track carrier roller (2) is approximately 64 kg (140 lb).
Position Tooling (A) in order to raise the track assembly. Raise the track assembly.
Remove bolts (1) .
Use the suitable lifting device to lower track carrier roller (2) to the ground.ReferenceRefer to Undercarriage Reconditioning Bulletin, SEBF8568, "Hydraulic Excavator Roller Disassemble and Assembly Procedures" for the disassembly and assembly procedures for the track carrier roller.
