GUARD AS 5T9641 - Caterpillar

1. Put a suitable floor jack (1) and wooden blocks in position under the transmission as shown when the support assemblies are removed. 2. Remove two bolts (4) and caps (6) from each side of the transmission.3. Remove two bolts (5) that hold bracket (7) to the frame on each side of the transmission.4. Remove four bolts (2) that hold support assembly (3) to each side of the transmission.5. Lift the transmission up slightly with floor jack (1). Remove bracket (7) and support assembly (3) as a unit from each side of the transmission. 6. Use a press to remove mount assembly and pin (8) as a unit from support assemblies (3). 7. Use a suitable hole saw to cut a hole approximately 38 mm (1.5 in.) in diameter in mount assemblies (9) as shown. This will provide an opening in mount assemblies (9) for removal of pin (8). 8. Use a press to remove pin (8) from mount assemblies (9).Install Engine And Transmission Support
1. Use tooling (A) and a press to install a new mount assembly in support assemblies (1). 2. Use a press to install pin (2) in the mount assemblies as shown. 3. Put a suitable floor jack (3) and wooden blocks in position under the transmission as shown when the support assemblies are installed. 4. Lift the transmission up slightly with floor jack (3), and put bracket (6) and support assembly (1) in position on each side of the transmission as shown.5. Install four bolts (4) that hold support assembly (1) to each side of the transmission.6. Install two bolts (5) that hold bracket (6) to each side of the frame. Make sure the transmission is centered in the frame when it is lowered on to brackets (6).7. Lower the transmission on to brackets (6), and remove the floor jack and wooden blocks from under the transmission.8. Put caps (8) in position on each side of the frame, and install two bolts (7) that hold them to brackets (6).
