Note: The control spools for the check valve on the oscillating axle cylinders must be replaced in pairs.
Move the machine to the service position on a flat, solid surface.
Use the front implements or stabilizers to lift the front axle slightly from the ground. Place the service brake in the LOCK position. Lower the rear stabilizers. Lower the rear dozer blade, if equipped. Attach a vacuum pump to the machine in order to prevent loss of hydraulic oil.
Shut off the engine.

(7) Check valve
Locate check valve (7) for the oscillating axle cylinder.

(8) Control spool (9) Valve cover
Remove control spool (8) and valve cover (9) from the old check valve.

Insert control spool (1) in cover (2) .
Install spacer block (3) in cover (2) .
Install spring (4). Make sure that spring (4) sits on the flat surface of control spool (1) .
Install the assembled cover in the cylinder for the oscillating axle. Make sure that purge port (10) is down.
Apply Tooling (A) to bolts (6). Install bolts (6). Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 14 N m (10 lb ft).
Repeat Step 6 through Step 10.

(11) Purge plug
After installing the check valve, air must be removed from the cylinders. Loosen purge plug (11). Start the engine and unlock the service brake in order to pressurize the valves. After the air is purged from the cylinder, tighten purge plug (12) to a torque of 20 N m (15 lb ft).
