The wheel brakes adjust automatically and need only an adjustment at assembly or when brake linings are replaced.1. Remove both covers at wheel brake.2. Turn adjusting bolt (8) until brake shoe (9) is against drum (5). Do not force the adjusting bolt.3. Turn adjusting bolt (8) in the opposite direction (back off) eight notches or clicks of the detent.4. At the center of brake shoe (9), measure the clearance between the lining and drum (5) with a feeler gauge. Brake shoe (9) is correctly adjusted when there is 2.03 mm (.080 in) or less clearance between the brake linings and brake drum (5). The brake lining must not touch the brake drum when the brake is released.5. Use adjusting bolt (11) and do Steps 2 through 4 again for brake shoe (12).6. Install the covers on the wheel brake.7. Do Steps 1 through 6 again for the other three wheel brakes.
