Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Operate the machine until the oil is warm.The autolube system reservoir is positioned on the front of the machine.

Clean the area around the reservoir of any dirt or debris. This must be done before the reservoir cap can be removed.
Slowly remove the reservoir cap in order to relieve the tank pressure.
Open drain valve (3). Drain the oil into a suitable container.
Close the drain valve. Clean the area around the drain valve.
Fill the autolube reservoir (2).
Install the reservoir cap.
Start the engine. Run the engine for a few minutes.
Maintain the oil level above the hole on the oil level gauge (1). If necessary, add oil. Note: The oil must be free from bubbles. If there are bubbles in the oil, then air is entering the system.
